Hurricane Katrina

(COMPLETED PROJECT – 2005)

The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina left hundreds of thousands stranded and many were left homeless by the vast destruction of the storm and its flooding. In coordination with UNTO (formerly known as GAiN USA), GAiN Canada and its partners supplied compassionate help and hope for many of the victims of Katrina. Supplies such as juice, clothing, ice, soup and other food items were transported for distribution in churches, camps, and other places of shelter for displaced people who had been left homeless.

30,000 Care Packs were purchased, assembled and distributed through our partners and local volunteer teams. Each pack included essential food and hygiene items.

Your generous gift to Hurricane Katrina Relief enabled us to respond in providing critical necessities such as food, drinking water, toiletries, bedding and other needs related to temporary shelter.
