DART Training (April/May 2017)
More and more disasters are occurring worldwide.
Every day you are confronted with devastating news on television, which often lead to a feeling of helplessness. It is very important to have individuals who are trained to handle the specific problems present in this type of situation and to know exactly how to react in case of a disaster. People affected by disasters are waiting for help, not only in a material way, but also finding their way back to life.
GAiN is building a European team of volunteers to become involved in disaster areas worldwide and to give quick and professional help. This spring, training will be held in Latvia for GAiN International’s Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART).
You can go there! We are looking for you with your own skills and experiences. Follow your compassion and take action. Together, we can make a change.
You can apply if you...
- have good English language skills
- are flexible and available on short notice
- are available for 2 weeks up to 3 months
- are able to work under uncomfortable conditions
- have good physical health
What is DART?
DART means ‘Disaster Assistance and Response Team’. DART is available 24/7 and takes immediate action after disasters in form of distribution of food, clothing, shelter, medical advice, trauma counseling and long-term reconstruction.
DART is a project of GAiN.
